About the Artist

Linda Giles was born in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1960.  She moved to Victoria, B.C., with her family in 1979.  Since then, Linda has travelled extensively and lived and worked in the U.S.   In 1990, Linda enrolled in a nursing programme and graduated three years later.  She worked in the medical field, both in Canada and the U.S., for almost a decade before returning to college in 1999, where she found the courage to dive into the Holistic side of life.  Linda completed and graduated with her Practitioners Degree in Holistic Medicine.  She worked in this field until 2004, further adding to her creative spirit. 

Linda began painting in 1985, after the birth of her Daughter, Erika.  Linda is self-taught, painting exclusively in water-colours, acrylic and mixed media,; digital pathways of abstract illusions.  She has now invested over twenty years developing and strengthening her skills.  Much of Linda's inspiration came from her experiences through her southwest travels.  There, in the warm deserts of Arizona is where Linda found her deepest spiritual side.  From there until now she continues to use those moments and pour them into her paintings.  Linda has since had many exhibits in both Canada, the U.S., Europe and even as far as Japan.

In Linda's paintings you will be able to see many figures.   Some will be interacting, dancing, guiding, and greeting each other.  Most of which try to demonstrate the travel to new 'plains'.   Linda awaits for the moments when visions and images come to her, inspiring her to paint what she feels.  The senses of life, and there-after, compel Linda to explore in an artistic form for others to see and feel as well.

Linda's artistry continues to move forward and captures hearts all over.  Her reputation is expanding and with that she has been approached by a number of reputable galleries.  With Linda's paintings being shown all across the globe, she is surely ready to continue to share these amazing visions.  Linda has many exhibits coming up and looks forward to each and every one of them, as her images find their way into the hearts and homes of others.  As the appreciation for her soulful renderings grow, so does the demand for her paintings to be shown.  Linda mostly looks forward to the amazingly light path her visions have started to pave for not only herself, but for all.
